I've pretty much always been a bookworm and I love reading. I spend my Saturday nights in Barnes and Noble and I see absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'll forever be a nerd. I've made a couple of trips recently and I've picked up what I believe to be some great reads. I usually pick out romance novels, but recently I've been looking for books that I believe will motivate me.
I'm still reading "I Don't Belong To You" by Keke Palmer and as a fellow millennial I'm loving her more and more as I dig deeper into her book. Also, "Milk and Honey" by Rupi Kaur has become one of my favorites. If you're looking for a good book those are my suggestions.
As for my mini haul I picked out three books that have all been released this year. All three of the authors I admire for the way they're always so raw and real in every situation they're faced with. They're transparent, so I know they didn't hold anything back when writing their books.
"Black Privilege: Opportunity Come To Those Who Create It" by Charlamagne Tha God
Charlamagne is controversial all on his own and it comes from him never holding anything back and always being honest. I've watched so many interviews with this man I admire him for so many reasons, so I'm extremely excited to see what he has to say and read his success story.
"The Hollywood Commandments: A Spiritual Guide to Secular Success" by DeVon Franklin
I bought this book after I watched his interview on The Breakfast Club and I loved the description he gave in regards to his book. Franklin said this book is going to teach you how to be successful without losing your faith. As a person who has the word faith tattooed on me it's all I live by. Faith is all I have to go on, so you'll definitely get a review of this book.
"We're Going To Need More Wine" by Gabrielle Union
I'm EXCEEDINGLY excited about this book. While in the checkout line I opened up to about the middle of the book and started reading and just from the story I caught a glimpse of I know this book is going to be great. I was definitely laughing by the time I reached the counter, so I know Union is going to be very open and transparent. She's like my best friend in my head. Been a fan! Go sis!
